Hi guys, prob the first time posting here as ive never had problems installing many of the x2 (and previous chips)

The chip is an X3 (with flash bios 3.0.3) Xbox is version 1.1

Problem 1: The xbox turns on automatically when the power cable is plugged in, ive repaired the bridge under the sticker and checked with a multimeter, its fine but the xbox still powers up by itself.

The only way to stop the xbox powering up alone is to disconnect the power/reset red wire from the board or disconnect the board completely.

By doing any of the two above the xbox behaves like normal but obviously this wont fix the problem :(

Problem 2: The X3 does not want to flash, it is not connected to any switches, the flash protection is disabled and it still says "unknown flash Halting"

Ive tried both cdr and http flashing methods....

This is prob the first faulty chip ive had from the xecuter team so i hope someone can help me out?

All the best!

Hi,

Not sure about your flashing problem, (i've got enough of them myself !! lol) but your power problem might be something to do with this ..

http://replacements.webprogram.com/en-gb/faqs.asp#Q-1

I might be wrong though, but if it's a 1.1, then the chances are it needs a new cord anyway !

Good luck.

D:)

Hi thanks for your reply, but the problem isnt to do with the cord, i have hundreds of standard powercords like the ones used in the xbox and they are 100% fine. The cord replacement thing by MS is because there have been about 12 cases worldwide (out of all xboxs sold) of someone actually being hurt because of the cord overheating and melting at the tip ;)

Hope someone can help me out with a fix? I can buy a new power/reset board from baldbouncer but i dnt want to buy it and find out its not the problem.

Thanks

Just tested the chip on another machine with the solderless adaptor. Same problem once the reset/power board is connected.

Can someone please confirm that these chips "Wont" flash without being connected to the reset/power board. Thanks

right if im correct about your automatic power up, you have the power to the chip (red cable) connected to the bit where it says '5v 1.6 only', when this is plugged in on an xbox that isnt version 1.6 the xbox powers up automatically for some reason (well mine did). hope this helps.

hi, ive checked that a couple of times, ive got 2 xboxs to test on (V1.1 and V1.0) both turn on automatically, only thing i can possibly think of is the reset/power board being faulty or even the chip itself. The chip powers up but just cannot flash no matter what.

anyones help is appreciated

Yup .... I think ALL the pins on the back of the eject adaptor need to be on their own - that is, not touching - check again !!

Is it an X3CE ?

Yes it an X3CE, take a look at the pic (RED:pROTECT / GREEN: UNPROTECT) that correct?

Second pic as you can see no bridges (i removed the bridge no problem but cant see anything else , nor can the multimeter find another bridge)

Okaaaaayyyyy ....

hmmmmmmmmm

This has always confused me as Team Xecuter have chosen to put the exact opposite LED's on the X3CE as they have on the pro switch!! The pro switch, RED is UN protected, GREEN is OK. But YES you are correct, as it says on the back, I believe.

Well I must say the eject PCB looks OK - Cool pics by the way, well done !
Got me stumped !! There must be a fault with the board, if it works OK when dis-connected. All connected OK ? I've head a lot of people get the plugs mixed up - I know this has already been said tho ....

Yes im stumped at the moment aswell, ive only done a few X3CE and this is the first which has failed on me, ive done too many X2.6 etc.... Im sure this is definately a chip or reset board failure (chips reset board not xbox) because the xbox works 100% perfect with the eject board disconnected.

Team Executer any help here?

I seem to have found what may be causing the flash problems on the chip, this flaw was underneither the laquer. If you look at the first picture i of the X3 chip where you can see the back you can see on the bottom left theres a red smudge, using a fibre flass pen to remove the red laquer i found this.

I also managed to get another X3 chip today and voila it works 100% and no auto turn on xbox or any problems. Come on team executer, Quality Control!

First picture is zoomed out, second picture cropped onto the faulty track.

LED's backwards!!

Hey guys..

Having the same problem (X3 CE). Switched the 'protect' switch on the switch to the opposite (protect) setting (led was red) and flash worked! Either switch or LED was backwards...
