First things first: Hello all! Your guides and everything else are all wonderful and even more helpful!
Next, I already saw a pretty new topic about flashing an xbox 360 with a Liteon DG-16D2S, but the opening poster was asking about if his computer had sata ports.. I think I'm in a different stage of the flashing process. Admins, feel free to delete this thread and redirect me to there if you want. I thought seperate would be okay.

Now the post!
Me and my friend mostly followed this guide on youtube, youtu.be/O-3Zwirxg2c , turning to team xecuter where it was unclear to us. We have little, but the basic understanding of what we're doing.
Then we ran into the problem that our sata chipset wasnt working. After finding a few old computers lying around though, one with an intel P55 chipset did recognize the xbox being connected.
Or well, the intel software tells us an unknown drive is connected to the sata port, but jungleflasher doesn't find any I/O ports, which leaves us at a dead end. We do have signed portio32.sys.
Is it possible that, even though the intel software finally recognizes the drive, the chipset is still incompatible? are we just overlooking something really stupid? Please give us a nod to the right direction!

Thanks in advance!

Well, the point is that I don't want to waste any money at all, if not necessary. I have metric tons (ok, not really) of boards lying around, and some of them are bound to work. I understand that this forum supports team Xecuter products above all, but buying them is my last resort. Mainly due to shipping costs.

Don't you see how you can help, or don't you see why you should? You could help by literally trying this:

From what I've seen, there are lots of people asking for help while using their own chipset and probe. I'm sorry if this isn't accepted after all.

Where is your libusb0.dll located?
i dont think this is required if you are using a non usb sata controller.

To the op: There are only 2 working sata controllers that I know of for flashing this drive(X360USB Pro, and 1 type of VIA sata controller(Dont remember off the top of my head which one.))

Thanks for all your answers. I power the xbox with its standard power supply, and I do have libusb0.dll
So, given the chance that I'll never find a board with the right chipset, what should I buy? The via 6421 pcie card thing? USB pro?

imho if your going to be flashing any drives for 360 the usb pro is essential .it will dump alllll drives so far in 360.np what pc your on. :)

via 6421 i believe.
If my memory serves me correctly, if you use the via 6421 PCI you have to use the internal sata port, as the external will not work?
Its been a while since I've used the via 6421 as I now use the x360usb pro which I would highly recommend anyway.
I used the via 6421 years ago so if I'm wrong please correct me!

Thanks again for all answers! I do use internal sata, and they are set to IDE mode, so that's no problem at all.
I've decided to look for some more friends who also want their xbox flashed. If I can find enough monetary support, I'll buy the USB tool, otherwise the via 6421.
