Another Noob Question

Hey guys I am back with another noob question. Well I am about to order my Xbox360 Laser lens and I was wondering do I have to match up the lens with the type of drive I have? I also was wondering is SOLDERING really necessary. I have one uy that said he didnt solder anything and his worked perfectly.

you should of told them what drive you have when ordering your new lens. I was told if you really get a new lens and not one taken out of a another xbox360 it should have soldered points that needs to be removed.
