What exactly do you mean by "internet username and password"? What are you trying to do that requires this information?

I have a adsl modem/router downstairs that I cant access but its failing teribly and I need to replace it but cant find the username and password for it. All routers have an internal IP address. Connect to it via http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

You should find a config page appear. Look for account information. You may have the password hashed out though.

Finally, please be aware this is General Xbox discussion. Try and keep to the topics where possible.

if you open a dos window and type ipconfig and press return, it will show your ip address settings, the default gateway will be what you can try to use to access the router, just type the ip address into explorer !! or use http://[ip address]

hope this helps.

For username and password try:
username = admin
password = password

or

username = admin
password = root

or

username = root
password = password

Every box is different, but they are worth a try. Regarding the ipconfig bit above, try "ipconfig /all" you get more info. One of the lines will probably be "Connection Spoecific DNS suffix", which should be your ISP ... of course, you could just a router, plug the ADSL into the routers WAN port, and then share all the connections internally on a non routable subnet.
