I just did my second successful install of an X3 chip. This time it was on an old 1.0 xbox that I got real cheap ( $30 US) at a pawn shop.( Hard drive was shot) Let me tell you that the desoldering was a bitch, but I stuck with it and after about 45 min. I had all the LPC points desoldered and then install the pin header and the rest of the hardware. Flashed the chip with 1959 and 1957,it went smooooooooth as silk. Then install a new Maxtor 200gb hdd no problems at all. The ONLY problem that I( which is a very small one) is putting the eject\reset pbc board in. It's a tight fit behind the usb daughter board.

I really didn't need the second xbox, but I just wanted to see how difficult it is to install on a 1.0. ( and NO I don't want to sell it. :)

I left the solder on mine, I just put a little extra on top before I put on the pin header, set the header, then melted the solder onto each pin individually. Way easier than desoldering. It just sits a little crooked now.

Re: So i got some Q's

If you google for Internalised 360 hdd it should come up with the llama tut, i found that to be the best one, tho you'll need a solder iron and some other bits and pieces, it explains all tho.
