please help. its winding me up now!!

Xecuter 2.6ce all installed happily on my 1.4 and boots to bios screen. using HTTP to flash i choose bank 1, and tried to flash with Evox 3935 (aka evoxM7.bin). this appears to have rendered bank 1 dead. it tries to turn on 3 times then just flashes red and green. Bank 2 is ok!

Before i go ahead and totally murder this bank leaving me needing a programmer and more spent money, can someoine please tell me what i'm doing wrong?

I wanna be able to play a game!!!

oh and is there a way of rescueing bank 1?

Chances are you flashed with the wrong size bios. Go to xbins and download X2 5035. It is the best bios for an X2 chip. When you exract that file, you will see two .bin files. Since you have a 1.4, you are going to want to use the bin file that says vOld. Flip your switch to bank 2 and flash via http. It will flash bank 1, that's how flashbios works, it will always put the first 512k of any bios in bank 1.

the one i flashed was 256k.

i cant find the X2_5045, highest i could find was 4981. Now i'm banned!! hopefully until 5pm ish....

i do have a 'x2_4975_256k.rar' file. should i just use this one to get me going?

i thought i would have been ok with a slayer autoinstall, but it appears that you have to sort the chip bios 1st!

Don't bother with that one. How did you manage to get banned? You have to flash a 512k file. That is why you had the problem the first time. 5035 comes as a 512k file, so there is no resizing to be done.

hold that thought. am on a client site using different net access and i think i've found the right bios now!! it has x2_5035_vOld_512k.bin and is 512k in size!

i'll try it tonight and let you know. cheers for help up to this point! it just required some proper looking around on the FTP site.

hi, I have succesfully flashed mine with 16plus because I have a1.6, but I don't see any different from the microsoft start up, except there is a logo under the X, than it goes to the menu where you have memory, music etc, just like when you don't insert any cd in the original xbox. What did I do wrong? or what am I missing?
I used X2tool to edit the BIN file so it has another color, I flashed it, but still nothing, it's still the same?

Can anyone help me? I'm new to this.

you don't see anything different because you need to install a hacked dash now

xbox-scene has alot of info on the various dashboards that you can install onto your box

once you've chosen the dash you would to install, you simply just need to make a bootdisc of it and transfer it over to your box

if you've flashed with the latest X2 5035 bios then all you need to do is edit the x2config.ini file to load your particular dash upon booting up your box

evox is a good dash to start out with and get comfortable with, after that you may choose to move on to another dash as it is pretty basic

when you flash the bin file, will the x2config.ini file also be put in the xbox? I have tied to change the color but it doesn't work, not even after flashing. I'm now trying to install Evox, and then using evox ftp to install avalaunch.
Is that a possible way? or am I going to damage something?

according to xecuter, you can activate FTP by holding on A when the xbox boots, I tried it, but it doesn't do anything.

How do you active FTP of X2_5035 after flashing it to the xbox with no dashboard?

5035 doesn't have an FTP server built in. That is only on the X3 bios, and no you cannot use the X3 bios on an X2 chip.
