ok I put xsnes9x onto my hard drive no problem and put the roms in the roms folder within the xsnes9x folder but when I boot up xsnes9x it looks for the roms in d:/ (the dvd drive) so I made up a folder within the games folder in my xbox's E drive called snesroms and put the roms folder into there. THEN I went into the .ini file and changed it to look for the roms in e:/Games/snesroms/roms
Now when I boot up xsnes9x it is looking for the roms in the right place (e:/Games/snesroms/roms) but still it says there are no ROMS!!!!! What am I doin wrong????
Also is there any way that I can keep xsnes9x on my hard drive but have all my roms on a disc (just to save HD space, as I still have retail), if this is possible, how do I do it????? I know I could just burn all the roms onto a dvd easy enough but how do I get the xbox to read the disc, so I need a certain file in there????
any help would be great thanks

I noticed the same thing. xSnes9x looks for the roms in the <romdir>\Media\Other\Super Nintendo Entertainment System\roms folder (or something to that effect). So what ever you set up in the .ini file for the roms directory, you need to go to that folder, then go into Media\Other\Super Nintendo Entertainment System\roms and drop your roms there. I wish there was a way to override that hierarchical structure. Maybe there is a way to do it in the .ini file, but I haven't looked up the documentation for it. That path may very well have been compiled into the program (in which case you can't change it).

lol as sad as this sounds, i've been trying to get xsnes9x to work since like november... i still can't get the damn games to show up. i've put them in different folders, i've stuck them on different drives, i've changed the config file location for finding the roms and i still get no results. at this point i've pretty much given up on xsnes9x. it's sad, cuz i've gotten every other emulator working (psx, nes, atari, n64, colleco, gba, gens.........)
