Any guides for softmodding original Xbox to play ROMS?

I tried using the search function, but there aren't any easy search terms to find a guide for an original xbox softmod guide. So, I'm hopping someone else here could at least point me in the direction of one.

Try Google, there's a lot of tuts for this but since this is a TX product support Forum and you won't use any of TX products I suppose the support will be very limited also.

also once softmodded, do a tsop flash and bung in a 2tb hdd ....

Agreed although 2 tb is overkill for original Xbox imo

Has anyone ever seen a 2TB IDE drive at all ? (oh, sure there are SATA to IDE converters but...) A few hundered GB's for the original Xbox is more than enough.

Also, flashing the TSOP cannot be done on a V1.6.

ide drives only went to 750gb iirc , i used sata adapters and a segate 2tb -removed from an expansion destops usb harddrive case , lots of room for 800 games, emus, homebrew, movies and music

1.6 xbox's are trash as you cannot put an ind bios on them which enables LBA support for 2tb

it took me ages ripping all my games to the hdd - that was the worst part , although my 1.4 had a thompson drive which was flakey , so i swppped it out for a philips and got a steady 5mb /sec transfer speed

It's not possible to TSOP flash a version 1.6 or 1.6b Xbox motherboard.
ONLY motherboard versions 1.0-1.5 are TSOP flashable
