Any Idea's on an old Xbox and what todo?

Hello there, Got an Old xbox with no dvd drive which i've been using to Flash consoles to power drive's, But i don't have key, it was passed to me working but empty of the dvd drive and no way of getting the key, I was thinking of turning it into a dvd player but seems alittle Sad..

I was thinking About Jtaging it or something but this is something i've never done and was wondering if someone could just throw me some information before i start.

Not sure on the dashboard will have check later but Think its the One before the New daskboard thats available now, Maybe even one before thats looks same but green...

Also its an None HDMI console made in 2006... Think its possible I could Jtag or do something other then making it into a dvd player?

JTAG only works on dashes of 7371 or lower

however, xenons are RGHable if they are dash less than 14717
xenon RGH sucks (as in might take hours to boot to xell), but it works

Thanks joe for the reply and thats the information im seeking I'd going look now and find out the Dashboard, I don't mind how long it takes really to boot Xell has its better then a dvd player

Also thought that RGH only works on HDMI model xbox's?

Also the D: 2.0.9199.0,,, So I can Do some hack on it.. Will the hack available allow me to Get the dvd Key? if so How much would it cost todo this for the parts etc? I have soldering Iron etc, I mean the parts i need solder in..

Team Xecuter recently released their xenon RGH for non-split CBs. (dash less than 14717)

its pretty much the same process as a standard RGH, so not too difficult
like i said, it just might take a while

all the solder points needed and such should be included in the installation diagrams of JRunner

you just need a way to read the nand (the Nand-X), a Coolrunner, and a Coolrunner programming cable

and, of course, soldering skills

I think the console will have be a Dvd player, i've watched video's and sure I can install the Coolrunner but Not sure if it's worth it, for one the Xbox had 3 rings, Sure its running now but I don't know how long for, 2 I can't even find where buy a Coolrunner, I've looks over afew sites and it only about the cool runner not selling them, Also Like I said before they are for HDMI ones so how do I know which im getting?

Also how much are we looking at? Like i said I dont want spend too much into this console encase it breaks again and all i want is the key... a small list would be amazing thanks

You would be looking $20 for an xecuter coolrunner rev B. $5 for a nandx to cr programmer. I'm assuming you already have a nandx but they are like$35. You cr wouldn't be perma installed in the xbox, jut long enough to get it to glitch once.

So im look at $60 just to get the dvd key from an Old xbox that's had the 3 red rings which i've fixed with Heatgun and New thermal... I'll have think about it
