Any Ideas Please

First off let me Say I am not a Noob but I am running outta ideas. My box was working great with a 2.6CE til today and it started to frag with chip on. Well I opened up xbox and check all my connections and did not find anything ( was a wire install ). Being I did not find anything i ruled out the install by installing the pinhader instead and moving the "D0" wire to the top from the bottom still frag with chip on. ( well chip enable was on but no led on chip itself) So i started tracing the switch wires all looked fine no bare places or obvious breaks in wire. After not finding anything I decided to move my trouble shooting to my work bench where I tested chip with my programmer. With no great surprize chip still has no led on chip itself on ( blue led off) when chip in enabled. But if I flip the chip enable off I gt the red led on switch board to work. ( so chip is getting power ) So my question is did the chip itself die or does this sound liek maybe a switch board or the wires going to the switch. I have ruled out the install being chip will not come on with the progammer either nor will the programmer reconize the chip.

A few details if needed to know bank 1 has 5035 and bank to is a older flash in the 48xx. Xbox is a 1.3 and works fine with chip removed or disabled. chips is a 2.6ce programmer is a newer lite programmer. Chip has been installed for prob 3 months maybe a little longer.

Yes your right I knew it but did not want to accept it. But i have a buddy with a spare switch he is sending it. I just hope thats it. If not I guess its a good time to upgrade to a x3

well I am going to try a switch as I said I got one at a buddies but I do not think that is the problem casue if I ohm the switch it seems to be working properly if looking directly down on switch it ties the center and top right point together and the center and bottom right point together for chip enable. And for chip disable it ties the center and top left point together and the center and bottom left point together. So that part seems to be working correctly. I have also went ahead and tried to ohm my switch wires, the plugs being so small makes it kinda hard to do with my meter but they seem to be ok also. Also noticed that while checking the switch with the ohm meter that it poorly lit the leds on the switch board so that tells me that the circuit on the board itself seems to be ok. I hate to say it but seems my chip has died but will keep testing and swapping things around before I buy a new chip. Altho I hope its not the chip this chip is under 4 months old was bought in mid March of this year.

I would check your cable from your chip to the switch. If it got pinched or something that would cause things to act up. If you have a spare or your buddy has a spare try swapping it out. Good luck.

I have found and fixed the problem . thanks to all of you tried to help. Not sure what casued it but I replaced the switch and switc wire and still chip would not enable. So I removed the protective double sided tape from the chip and found one trace all but completely burnt and gone luckly I had enough of the trace left to be able to repair it with a small peice of wire. Still no clue what casued it to burn the trace in the first place tho.
