Which Manf Date Will Have A BenQ Drive In An Elite??

I'm looking to get a 360 in the next couple of weeks, (hopefully) but I wanna make sure it's a Benq drive. I'm gonna try pick up a elite and make sure that it HAS TO be the newer 360's with the Jasper motherboard....

A friend told me you can tell which drive you will have not just from taking off the faceplate and looking at the wires, but also from the manufactuer date.. does anyone know which sort of date an elite console will have a Benq drive? I'm asking about Benq as I prefer these to Lite-on...

i'm gonna get my 360 from a 2nd hand shop, so I will actually be able to check the date before I buy it, I just wanted to know which sort of date a elite will have a benq drive.. (if anyone knows that is)


oh, just one other noob question... a benq drive with the 93450c firmware will still be able to be modded right? I mean, it isnt like the lite-on needing to be soldered coz benq drives don't need the probe to flash... am I right?

As for the drive 93450c Is not a BENQ it is a LITEON FW Version.

^^ thanks, I seen that site before and just realised after I posted that the 93450c will be a Liteon drive... LOL

gonna have to check out the 360 in the shop before I buy it, even if it means pullin off the faceplate! lol
