Hi, I have this old Lite-On SOHW-832S which supports burning at 2.4x speed. Anyone used this drive with any success or do I need to get a new DVD burner?

Also whats the difference between the Pioneer 111D and 112D. The 111D is sold out on newegg.

Thanks

The Lite-on will most likely work, update to the latest firmware and try one.

The 112D will definitely work, it's the same as the 111D just with faster write speeds.

Just updated the firmware to Code Guys CG5M. I'll give it a shot once the verbatims get here in a few days and update this post.

I think this was like one of the first DL Lite-on drives to come out at the time (2004 i think).. hopefully it will work.

Burned 2 coasters on Verbatim DVD+R DL. Imgburn popped up with an I/O error, gonna go order a 112D and see how that goes.

The Lite-On SOHW-832S confirmed not working for me at least, for anyone who still owns one of these ancient drives.
