Hello,

In my last thread I asked some general questions and found that by doing a R-JTAG+ with the CR4 XL chip I could jtag my jasper.

So far I found that I will need:

-CR4 XL (not sure where to purchase this) ($40)
-Flux pen w/ Flux (I can get it here: http://www.xconsoles.com/products/rosin-flux-dispensing-pen-9g.html) ($11)
-USB cable for the QSB/Programmer (I do not know which one to get) (I can get the USB cable here: http://www.xconsoles.com/products/2ft-usb-cable.html) ($2)
-Hobby Solder kit (http://www.amazon.com/Studioline-LG403128-Hobby-Soldering-Iron/dp/B000SWTJC0) ($19)
-Rosin core solder (http://www.radioshack.com/rosin-core-solder-2-5-oz-/6400005.html#.VJnlP14DQ) ($6)
-Torx 10 & torx 8 to open up the case (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-8-IN-1-Torx-Screwdriver-Set-74502/100087664) ($6)
-Thermal paste (http://www.walmart.com/ip/20449158?) ($7)
-May need additional wires from what I have read, but I do not know the sizes of the wires, any help would be appreciated ($3)(?)
-I need some programmer like Demond, JR programmer, etc, but I do not know the difference or significance and what a Jasper needs (Unknown price)

Other than that I do not see what else I need?

Also I know that there is a perfect bundle made on xconsoles for phat consoles, however I do not have VIP which you need to view it (and you must purchase something first to get VIP lol, when all I want is just the bundle, or at least view it). I also contacted support asking for temporary VIP but I haven't received an answer on the ticket for the last several days.

Is this a good list or do I need to include something else?

You need soldering experience, so practice with dead boards, if the first thing you solder is a RGH, you will most likely fail, you can buy the CR4XL on Xconsoles, maybe you need a VIP account, That soldering iron (100W) is not adequate to work with this kind of boards and circuits, i use a 11Watts soldering iron for doing RGH and for reballing a soldering station, for a novice, i recommend you a 25Watts soldering iron as max. The solder is fine, the screwdrivers are fine too as well as the thermal paste. For nand flashing you can use JR Programmer V2, buy some wires, Kynar for example, you can find it on ebay and another board to practice, because doing an RGH is not an easy task for a novice, at least you can ask someone to help you, or if you dare, do it yourself and watch some videos, Martin C uploaded some nice videos where you can learn how to do it (http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?81105-Soldering-Videos).
Good luck and Happy holidays.

Oh, i forgot, you will need the Xclamp removal tool, for removing the Xclamps (Just $2) and the QSB's your console needs.

Thank you very much, do you have a link to any recommended solder irons? And I really could find any good pictures/guides where it shows exactly where to solder the wires and where exactly to place the pieces.

So I need

JR Programmer V2
QSB (What would a Jasper 512mb phat xbox need)
>25 watt solder iron
Kynar wires

+ the other things I listed?

Still, after I get everything, there still isn't a very clear guide as to where to solder and where to place the QSB, the programmer, and the CR4 XL

Perhaps I can just mitigate all this and just ship my console to a modding service, but i don't see any services that simply jtag your console for you

Maybe is cheaper sending it to a pro, because you will need new soldering supplies, so where are you located?

That's what I was thinking, I am located in the Northeast of the United States.

Might be worth having a look here I'm sure someone will be able to help you out
Thanks, if you don't mind you seem like you know your way around this forum, would it be possible if you could endorse or recommend any services for me?
