Well you only need the burner to burn XGD3 backups..the USB Pro is good, the unlocked PCB is good, you're the guy with the Winbond chip on his drive right? If so, unlocked PCB is definitely what you want.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not sure if it's winbond, it was 9504 firmware, then updated and now 0272, I'm not sure between the two, but with the pcb 1.0 and 1.1 does it really matter between the two?

Yea I'm hoping to make backups, so the ihas will come in handy

1.0 vs 1.1 only really matters if you want a switch to unlock on the outside of your drive, at least that's the only feature I saw that caught my eye, a staff member would be able to tell you the differences better than I can as I've used neither of them..got lucky and had MXIC chips in all my Slims so far.

Also may be a silly question, but is it live safe, I know there a risk with mods?

Nothing is ever Live-safe. Use the latest LT firmware, check your backups with KProbe, use Verbatim MKM-001/003 from Singapore, and be wary of dashboard updates. That's the only way to dodge a ban for the longest time possible. I've run flashed consoles on Live for years at a time and never been banned, but I kept track of new firmwares, new checks, and used good media.

thank you for your help, its much appreciated

also, is there a tutorial from dumping and flashing. using both the unlocked pcb and usbpro, Im just concerned that Ill stuff something up?

he means that after you burned you abgx360 checked image onto your dvd you have to check it with kprobe to see if it's burned correctly
and on the forums are tutorials and youtube is full of it

alright cool, thanks, after research on TX, I found the 0225 tutorial. It says its for all 3 liteon drives and after reading it three times over, its seems good. After viewing the 9504 tut with this quote:

"NOTE: If you have updated to the dashboard 2.0.13146.0 then your fw version will now be 0272. If you have updated to dashboard version 2.0.13599.0 then your drive is now locked and you need to follow the same procedures as the 0225 and 0401 drives."
