All I get is the cdb failed thing

This is the log I get...

DVD DL +R detected
BurnerMAX not enabled, YET !
BurnerMAX not enabled, YET !
Scanning: D:\ [ASUS DRW-24B1ST i 1.00]
CDB failed
Scanning failed!
Will try matching for known write only drives..
BurnerMAX not enabled, YET !

And it has even said on other sites I have looked around that this dvd burner is one of the good working ones
So could someone please help a noob out??
thanks in advance

EDIT: I bought this off the newegg website (however it's spelled out), and my family is super low on money...so I can't really ask my mom to buy me one from another site...so does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Plus I also noticed there was someone with the same problem (Kingofkings809), and I tried everything in that forum...nothing worked...

http://www.ixtreme.net/360-backups/34156-burnermax-payload-tool-compatibility-list.html

that is the website I saw that the dvd drive I have should work with the burnermax payload tool

Have you checked in Device Manager that it displays the drive with the correct model number? Checked the label on the drive?

I am using the same drive as you also purchased on new egg and it works great with burner max. All I can say is it is definitely compatible. I'm running windows 7 64 bit professional

Well, I downgraded my laptop to windows 7 ultimate...and I'm using the x360 pro v2 to connect my external dvd drive to my laptop...I have an asus ROG laptop...and I also do have the molex adapter to power for my external dvd drive.
and it still gives me the same message...I even updated the pio for the x360 pro v2...and still the same thing with the cdb...
any advice would be greatly appreciated

A galaxy far far away....
what do you mean by that?
(sorry to sound like a n00b)
and how would I change the firmware on my dvd drive?
check the MFGR website for updated version of firmware, however I checked and Version 1.00 is latest

i know you mentioned you were low on cash but i recommend a Sony Optiarc (5280S-CB-PLUS)
