you guys do realize you Xbox will not die without the metal sheilding. You can take it all out then just make sure you do not get any interference. If you do put it back in.

Solve all the running wires issues. And 2die4 I do not know how smart is was to strip the wires, you do not want them shorting on the metal case...

it wasn't exactly stripping the wires, the wire itself was in some kind of thicker plastic housing so I had to cut the plastic housing in order to make it flatter (!) hope that makes sense ! No bear wires are exposed !

oh I got you know, like removing the big round plastic on a round IDE to just have the wires...

If I had a stock case I would deff get a CP and just scrap all my sheilding.

i just wish it came with some sort of install instructions because it was quite a pain getting everything together. Soldering wasn't difficult, it's knowing where to thread the wires thru etc that got me. In the end I stuck most of the wires underneath the controller ports but I did have to strip some of the plastic from the wires or else my controller ports didn't line up properly.

It definitely looks better in real than it does in the pics and as shagga said I didn't quite fancy getting my dremmel out to install the screen. I did dremmel the top of my xbox to install the custom jewel but that was dead easy :)

Soldering?? I didn't have to solder anything in mine

What did you solder on your X3CP
Did you try and melt it on

That plastic thing around the eject switch is not included but the one from your original front panel fits perfect

@ PhatheadWRX
Yeah mate exactly like that !

@ frazzyscot & Ozzy
I didn't solder anything to the X3CP but I did have to install the X3 CE chip and HD and LAN lights as I originally have a 2.3b chip in my xbox. Sorry, I should have worded it better ! Just got too excited that it was working and finally done *L* No soldering to the Control Panel at all and nothing melted on ! :D
