After 2 months i've finally got the x3 working on my 1.6b xbox with the reason being that it was sent to me without the v3.0.3 flashbios on it and it got lost in shipping.

My question is, when you hold the power button down and the x3 goes red, and boots the original msdash, should the blue leds on the X3 chip itself still be on. Or does this mean that the chip hasn't been disabled?

wow... that must suck... 2 whole months!!.. I couldent wait to pop it in my xbox once it got here..!!

if you hold the POWER button for like 2 seconds, it will boot to MS dash, and it should be disable.. and the X3 should be red.. but then again I dont got any switch on mine on the moment so I cant check.. :p but it should be disable

yeah, the x3 is red on the front of the switch, but i'm talking about the actual modchip itself, inside the xbox, it has a blue led when its booted, but my blue led stays on when the msdash is booted aswell, is this normal?

Totally normal.. Just means the chip is getting power.

Yes, it is normal. The lights just mean that the chip has 3.3v and 5v power and the other light means that the flash is either protected or unprotected.

Excellent, thanks guys, so that means i can go on xbox live with the chip off. Can't beleive i've had so much trouble and all the problem was was the chip wasn't flashed with the right flashbios to start with
