ATA166 Cable, Is it worth it?

Alright I have to respond I know I said I was gone, but here, I will help out. People claim it helps, I have one in my DreamX, but I don't believe it makes a difference. The reason I say this is because I depends on your hardware, your hardware has to support the faster speeds from the cable and the Xbox hardware does not. However, if your drive has DMA then you may notice it to a point, but nowhere near the difference you would see if the mobo supported it. It's like this, your mobo is the bottleneck so yes, from the cable to the drives you may be passing more data faster, but once it hits the mobo it slows down again. So you should not really see as much of a difference as some of the claims that you shave anywhere from 2-4 seconds off load times, you might see MAYBE a second, but that's about it.

For $7.99, if you are already ordering something, it's arguably worth it. You will see very little differences, but you may see it at some places. I wouldn't say it was worth it to buy it alone and pay for it + shipping, but if you are already getting some mod bits, then you might as well grab one. A note though, you can probably find a cable cheaper at a general computer store.

yeah they do rape you. but 7 bucks isnt that bad for a cable

but the reviews are saying it takes the load times down by half, and if they realy did that i would be thinking of getting one.

I actually noticed a big difference on loading times. Games basically dont stay on the loading screen for very long.

I have installed two of these cables from llamma.com and have not noticed any perceivable difference. Also I saw this post on the forum in a thread about 80 pin HDD cables on XBOX ( after I brought my cables  )

Xbox MAX IDE Bus rate is ATA33

I have the schematics
So I gather that the cables can make no difference. I think Xecuter would know
