Tried...no luck. I'm booting with the X3 BIOS. Any other suggestions?

Somewhere
Burn them on a CD-RW and rip them. I have a 1.0 xbox and it reads burned CDs on RW just fine.

It still depends on what DVD drive you have.

Maybe you should just rip them on your PC and FTP them over

Where would I ftp them to? (Which folder?) I'd like to use them in games with Customizable Soundtracks.

And what format do they have to be in? Can MP3s be loaded and played or does it have to be WAVs?

And how does your sig have anything to do with his problem at hand? I look at the last post and for 99.9% of all of the topics on the first page, you have replied to one right after another.

I read half your posts and there just as stupid as the one you just posted. You really arent helping anyone out, but if being a postwhore and getting your post count up is important to you then hey, more power to ya. Hope your rep doesnt start to suck tho.

As for the authors problem, you said you are booting to the x3 bios. Do you have any dashboards installed or any apps?

I would give XBMC a shot. If you go under my Music you can insert a cd and rip the soundtracks to whatever partition you prefer.

If you dont have a dashboard yet, might I reccommend Avalaunch. Under Settings/Network, you can download both the installer for xbmc and the update. Makes things a ton easier. Also what kind of DVD-Rom drive do you have?
Do you know what size harddrive you have? If you have the 10 GB HD you can go underx3 config live and set your current hard drive setup to F Drive turned on, G drive off.

Then go under drive setup and format only your f drive. You should have opened up 2 gb of space.

If you dont have a dashboard yet,or you have a drive that is very picky with media you can FTP from your comp into your xbox from the x3 bios screen.

Just look in the bottom left hand corner of your screen for your ip. The port should be 21, and the name and password should both be x3.

Then take your newly formatted F: partition and transfer some MP3s into that folder.

For an FTP prog I would highly reccommend FlashFXP. Havent had any problems with it yet.

Goodluck.

did you not read his post? atleast i do that? sorry but your rep started off sucking! He said he wanted it to be in the spot so that he could use them for games with customizable soundtracks. He also wanted to know what directory and format. You answered no part of his question.

And your earlier post answered his questions? You told him to FTP the music. I told him how yto FTP it or another program to use to rip them.

You can still ripp them to the UData or Tdata folder if he wants to be able to use them as a standard soundtrack.

He also didnt say anything about using them as a soundtrack for xbox games. That he was unclear about.

Also he could of bought an xbox game that has the ability to ftp the music over.

Its like some karokee game or something.

@Audi90Quattro :
- do i need to do the turnON F drive and format before I can use it? why can i see the said drive when I do flashfxp?
- when i use XBMC My Music and insert a CD audio... it cannot read... does it should still be in CDRW form? as most DVD-ROMs are not that good?

TIA!

pentiumfour: seriously dude... do yourself a favor and just buy a better DVD-ROM drive. obviously you dont get the whole encode-the-music-on-your-computer-and-ftp-it-over-to-your-xbox concept.

if you get a drive like a Samsung, your xbox will just be able to directly read a CD-R and you can copy music like you always have.

Aural is right. The new drives arent the cheapest but it'll read alot more media if you upgrade drives.

Now your only limited to a certain selsect few medias that it may read. I have a samsung so I've never encountered that problem.

If you have the 10 gb drive you gotta format it before you can use the f partition. Thats the nly partition you have to format, dont touch anything else.

Even if you can still see the drive on flashfxp if you try and open it it shouldnt let you.

Whenever I went into Avalaunch it said f: drive has 0 mb free. when I formatted it I got 2 gbs.
