I couldn't decide whether to put this here or in the BIOS forum, so I just posted it here, move it later if you want.

Ok, here's the problem.

I want to install Avalaunch on my Xbox, but I have a X3. Now, the guide I am following wants me to use XBTool to edit the BIOS. No problem I think. I try to load up the BIOS and it says it couldn't load. No I may seem like I'm going in circles but plaese bear with me.

Alright, now, this is a question that is pretty half - and - half as of companies. I'm asking you how to flash my Xbox with the 1959 BIOS after editing it with XBTool. I guess if you look at this, I'm asking how to install Avalaunch with 1959 bios.

The giude I was using to install Avalaunch is this: www.teamavalaunch.com/docs/manualv2.2.pdf

I'm not sure if I'm posting this oon the right website or not, nut please help me anyway. I'm new to this dash installation thing and could really use a step by step dummy walkthrough or a link to a page.

Thanks again.

I've never edited the bios with anything. i just dragged and dropped it into the folder where it needed to be using the ftp program fxp. Then, I dragged and dropped the dash program into the c drive and viola, the trick, she is done.
Can you ftp into the box? If so, then it should be pretty easy.

you don't need to edit the x3 bios to run avalaunch just make it your defaultdash.xbe and using ftp to transfer the files over to your xbox.

Possible ?

Im not sure but I think my question is similar but has nothing to do with the answer given thus far. I have an X3 on 1.6 and am using the 1959 bios twice (banks 1-4) and again (banks 5-8) I thought this would allow me to use unique settings in each to provide one that boots to say XBMC and one that boots to AVA. However when I change the boot settings in one it changes both. So what is the purpose again on having more than 1 bios? and the pro switch is for what ? I couldnt find this specific question yet. I know that I can hold down a trigger and launch another app or dash but again why when I have a pro switch? I thought the 2 bios would be unique to each other but the settings are shared somehow. I would like to be able to launch 4 dif dash's and I believe this is possible but I cant seem to find the answer. i expected to have 2 bios one to boot to XBMC (hold trigger for AVA) one to boot to Evox (hold trigger for unleashX). Anyone tried this or have any idea ? If the settings are stored to a file could one maybe edit a bios to look at a slighly different named file then reflash ?
