avalaunch loads wont go to file manager

Hi

Ok never ran into this before. let me ask first is there anyway to change what dash the 2.6 chip is looking for? second I change the c drive xboxdash.xbe to load avalaunch it comes up I can do things in avalaunch but as soon as I go into the file manager it freezes. anyideas? I can go into the media center no problem I can get all the networking to work no game to see how they work yet but no file manager?

Never heard of the Avalaunch file manager problem, can't offer anything here.

The dash program name isn't controlled by the chip but rather what BIOS you have on there. In older versions of Xecuter BIOSes the program name was stored in the BIOS and generally was changed by a config utility on a PC. With the current X2CL series the boot dash is controlled by an ini file stored on the HDD. I'm not sure how non-Xecuter BIOSes work but I'm fairly certain they are like the older Xecuter BIOSes. Chances are if you don't have an X2CL BIOS on your 2.6 you'll need to flash a new BIOS in order to change the boot dash name.

What version of Avalaunch are you running? I've never had a problem with the file manager in Avalaunch. It also sounds like you don't have your Xbox setup right. You shouldn't be renaming any files.
