gives me e71 when i boot my xbox with the system update on root of usb grrr
You'll get E71 if the R6T3 resistor has been removed or points bridged but it should still work after a reboot. If dashlaunch has been used to patch freeboot and updates are blocked you'll probably need to reflash freeboot before you can get the avatars to work. I dont think you can simply run dashlaunch again and tell it not to stop updates but i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

only thing on it now is the system update folder and the default.xex
why do you have a default.xex in the root of your USB stick? this I believe is the issue - your JTAG console is trying to read it.

what on earth are you trying to do????

It's simple.

1. Access your USB stick on your PC.

2. Rename $SystemUpdate to $$ystemUpdate.

3. Remove USB stick.

4. Insert into Xbox 360.

If this is too hard, please send your console to me.

What files?

Can I just check - you're trying to update your avatar information as per the OP - yes?

So you download the 12625 + Avatar update, rename the folder as stated and copy to your USB stick.

It's not difficult - stop making it difficult.
