Why would you want to disable file sharing? Thats the whole point of p2p networks. If everyone were to disable their file sharing then there would be no p2p networks.

LOL, they'll still catch you when your downloading, even with uploading disabled.

You actually can't disable file sharing with a torrent prog.
Like it was said earlier thats the only way it can exist. Also its not possible because you download a packet of the file and you cant download another packet until you've uploaded the previously downloaded packet to someone else.

BrettL789123, you are a dumbass.

the RIAA goes after people pirating music and has mainly narrowed their search to KaZaA users

the MPAA is the one that has been actively getting BitTorrent websites shutdown... and this is for pirate movies

now since BitTorrent is not very centralized (many trackers not connected to each other), it's would be extremely difficult to track individual users so they go after the biggest trackers

i got a letter sent to me last summer from the MPAA for using bittorrent, my isp in turn shut off my internet for a month, so i now use bittorrent for TV shows only. Too easy to get you IP off of bittorrent. So i stick to sharing networks off the beaten path.
