Hi

Can anyone clarify if there is a different install procedure for the xbox 1.6b? I'm using an Xecuter 2.6 and following the guide from team xecuter for the 1.6 pin install.

I'm positive my solder points are good and and the LPC rebuild is in the right places... I just get 2x reset and FRAG though?!?! When i disable the chip it boots correctly in standard xbox mode.

Any advice would be of great help

no not yet, have you?? I did double check my version and it seems i have a 1.6 (doh), but its still not helping with my problem.

This is my first experience of v1.6's and im not impressed at all. Has taken me 40 mins max in past to chip 1-1.5's. Been scratching my head for 4 days on this one!

I'm considering trying to flash my x2.6 in my old 1.0 xbox.. just to see if that makes any difference. It may not have cromwell bios on the chip at all, as i assumed it needs some kind of bios on to pop open you cd tray?!?!

Im quite surprised by the lack of Input by the administrators on this problem.. they seem very quite on the subject apart from the usual check your soldering or check you rebuid. Plus there seems to be an awful lot of people with the same 3x reset and frag... we cant all have crap soldering surely.

Hi, well being a rookie, I'm not to sure what fragging is but I too have a 1.6B Crystal & when I first installed my E-xecuter 2.6 light, the box wouldn't boot just kept sort of switching on & off then it would die, although it was fine when the chip was disabled, I to checked all my wires countless times & then remembered I had this problem on an earlier version of Xbox & it was all down to Bios!
I have now flashed with the Evox M8 & it works ok, but not as well as the earlier versions of xbox I have chipped using 2.6 light chip & x2 4983 Bios.

Hope this helps,

The key to a good manual rebuild is keep the wires as short as possible, i have had the same problem as you and find that it is usually a dry joint or more often than not the little short bridge that is the bugger causing the 3 x frag.

The new rebuild modules really do make the job a lot easier and for £2 a throw really do take the stress out of rebuilds.

Just wait till you get a 1.6b

Darksiders SS

so my darksiders copy shows SSV1 on it when running it through ABGX but is a Wave 4 game, does this mean that its unsafe with LT and was ripped with an older drive?

Darksiders needs to be SSV2 for safe to play on live. But technically this game has no online feature just the leaderboards but it is recommended to have all games SSV2 and splitvid for LT as its safer.

Hope this helps :)
