What happened to my xbox?!

alright so heres the story... my modded xbox worked fine for about 2 months... my little sister was playin on it and some how messed something up b/c my cd drive was being read under xbox media center as 'open'. so then i pushed the eject button and it was read as 'busy' and nothing other than that. so i couldnt get that to work right so i decided to open up the xbox and check the connections, cdrom, etc... nothing was wrong... however i knocked the white wire (x3 wire install) loose. quick solder right and it should work right? nope... now it decides not to give me a video... the backup bios screen comes up perfectly... it works fine when the chip is off... so i pulled off all the wires in order to start from scratch... cleaned up all the connections so there was no solder anywhere... and resoldered the wires to the board... same thing is happening... i have no idea what is gonig on... theres no spilled solder anywhere... its clean... good solder... no idea... any suggestions?? oh yeah... and before i even did this all... the splash screen in the beginning was choppy like it was having trouble reading the hard drive... but after that all the programs and everything worked fine... just no cd drive

Maybe your IDE wire got messed/died... Try changing IDE wires between the Xbox's, and see if that fixes it. Try using the second Xbox's DVD... in your broken one, see if it still has the error. This will let you know if it's the Motherboard... or the DVD... or what ;)

Infront Of my Computer.
sounds like a memory leak took place and some how messed up the bios, try reflashing your bios, or open the cd-rom drive and then unpower your box and push it shut, then power it back up

forgive me for thinking you should be a genius for doing this....

have you looked at the flashbios instructions and had a look at what 'unable to flash, halting' actually means and what the fix is

you must have done tho as no one would ask a question like that without reading instructions first - that would be asking a bit too much
