RGH phat, no internal MU. I read and watch tutorials on installing media update to play mp4 etc. I install the 4xx kb file in the required folder, it shows up on the original dash in system info as "media update"...i used xm360 which showed it was locked, I unlock it...still no work. I then took 2 other files which I found on my other xbox (xbl enabled/dual mod) an MU (flashdrive1) in similar folder and unlocked them & place it on the flash drive2...still nothing. The flashdrive2 was formated on the rgh system 1st...no work, tried the xbl enabled one...no work. I checked dashlaunch on the 2 systems appear to be same setting. If I plug both flashdrives into the rgh system mp4 vid works...I really frustrated with ms bs procedures to do simple things...dont get me started on cover art/offline issue on original systems....

thx for the assist but still no wrk...pm sent. I would have asked if this only works on HDD but that wont explain why my other flashdrive works...
copy it to internal mu or hdd.

My XBL console has 3 diff media updates, all are a diff size.

Ok, thats some new info I wasnt aware of...I was now about to try updating rgh1 to latest dash & connect it to internet cable, try to play a video and hope for the best. I conducted some test today and the following is the conclusions.
Falcon/Opus, no internal memory, rgh1, dash 16537:
flasdrive1 & flashdrive2 plug in = mp4 works (even if flashdrive2 pulled out during play from flashdrive1, on console reboot with flashdrive1 alone not work)
flasdrive1 & flashdrive2 plug in = mp4 works (if flashdrive1 pulled out during play from flashdrive2, video stops & error msg comes up)
flashdrive1 plug in = not work
flashdrive2 plug in = not work
HDD plug in = not work
HDD & flashdrive1 = mp4 works
HDD & flashdrive2 = not work
I knw wtf? right? all files media update files were installed properly, and unlocked & is visible in system info on original dash. So i`m going to try avatar update and see...
Matter resolved:
The problem wasnt the media update files (3 files), but the avatar kinect update which only installs on HDD or Internal MU, hence I was forced to use a HDD. Install kinect avatar by JRunner appears to not work properly cause I repeated about three separate occassions and ended up having to do manual install via flashdrive...all in all its done finally I can move on with life...imagine u need avatars installed to watch videos..smh
