Ive been away from the xbox modding scene for a couple months so Im really not up to date with things especially the new X3. My parents bought my brother an Xbox for christmas and Im going to install a mod chip for it. I looked at the Xbox and have determined that it is v1.6

Now since it is 1.6 I must use the X3 correct? Also do the bios'es out there for the X3 allow me to install a larger hard drive?

Like I said I have been out of the modding scene for a while and I just want to make sure before I go and order the chip.

You do not have to use the X3 because you have a 1.6 you can use other chips, but I would recommend the X3 because its a superior chip.

The only thing about the 1.6 is that you have to do the LPC rebuild and make sure to use the 5v cable and basically I would just read the tutorial about the X3 for the 1.6. That will give you pretty much all the info you need to know about installing the chip itself

The BIOS will allow you to put a larger HDD in the xbox.

"this module has been disabled" forum message

Hello!
I am a new user here and just got my xbox 360. I am trying to get a tutorial to open and download firmware to install but I am always getting error "We're sorry, but this module has been disabled". I am not able to find out how to enable it. Is it because I am new or should I do something special first? :)
Thank you!
