How to back up games from original disk to DVD-R, I will look at backing up onto the hard drive later.

I’m struggling to find a tutorial, I’ve tried all the usual places and searches all the forums to no avail.

I have Quix and nero, what else do I need

Do I just make an iso using quix from the original dvd in my pc and then burn the iso using nero?

Is it possible to just copy a disk using something like clone dvd?

Any help would be appreciated, If this subject is already a sticky or a tutorial, please could you point me in the right direction as I have searched for it.

Um... I've heard that using nero to make an image... like an ISO won't work. I think you have to use xiso... but I don't know alot about it. Try doing a google search on xiso.

someone please tell me if i am wrong but i am sure your PC dvd drive will not recognise anything on an Xbox disk.

i.e. it will not read it.

You have to FTP your xbox, put the disk in the xbox, ftp the files across to your pc.

you can then burn them directly with nero using the DVD-ROM UDF ISO option, ensuring you check the box to force video playback required for xbox playback, on the UDF tab.......yes its actually references XBOX.

see the below thread, the guru Martin C puts it far more succinctly....

The limitations are this:

To copy an Original Xbox disk, you *must* read it in the Xbox and then transfer the files (however you decide to do it).

To copy a backup, you can just do a disk copy with Nero etc - although (if you used an xISO) the disk may look unreadable/blank, Nero will do a perfect copy of it.
