backup is not working..

ok I hit eject and power at the same time and the icon turns purple but when it is in backup mode the screen is just black and after a while in the black screen the color around the power button turns solid orange...tell me what to do!

Sounds like u may have a 1.6b .
On the backup preinstalled is flashbios3.01 which does not work on a 1.6B

if u already have flashed with an x3 bios then boot to CFL and use this to upgrade your backup flash to 3.03.

If u still need to flash a hacked bios then u only have flashbios3.03 on the second 1M bank (off,on,off,off,off). Once booted to 3.03 change the switches to bank 1 (on,on,off,off,off) and flash an x3 bios to that (ver 3108)

Ok i have ver 1.6 and I have had a bios menu and I kept installing stuff in each bank now each one frags and my backup does not work.Ok first I installed the wrong bios in my1mb bank and all the other banks I installed the right bios but my bar kept getting stuck 1/4 of the way..

you cannot flash over the backup bios without a sucessful flash with a full bios and then using CFL to flash backup.
Therefore it must still be there...maybe it is booting backup but the display is missing somehow.
on a 1.6 the buttons have to be tapped v quickly...if u hold the buttons then u will get a purple x and black screen.
try several times by just tapping both buttons together to get a purple x and flashbios 3.01 on screen

also confirm how u r flashing...ie network, ftp or dvd

Im using a dvd and my bios menu says 3.0.0 but I still cant get the screen I try very very fast but all it does is give a purple x and no screen.

ok what happens if u boot backup (purple x )
press down twice and press enter...if the flashbios is loading but simply not displaying then this should eject the cd tray.

If it does then set switches on,on,off,off,off and insert disk containing X3 3108 v16plus.bin

If still nothing then u will need to either find a friend with a modded box and hotswap your x3 on his box to flash it or return it to your supplier to reflash factory flashbios.
They will most certainly charge for this
