Backups on Live with DG-15D4s FW 0225 and latest MS DB

I'm about to purchase everything i need to mod and UL firmware on my DG-15D4s FW 0225 on my Xbox slim (manufactured in 2010) . My question is:

I have updated my MS dashboard from Live approximately 2 weeks ago. I am unsure of the version because I took apart my console before checking. Assuming i have the latest update from M$ am i still OK to purchase this kit? or do i need to wait for Demon and RGH. Is there a firmware available for my drive/console?

If there is, will I safely be able to run my backups on live?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You can run backups. You need to find out if you have mxic chipset or winbond. Depending on which you have depnds on how to mod your drive. Or buy replacement pcb.

It is a winbond.... is that a good thing? What next? Time to play with the Maximus Kamikaze Winbond Template v2.4?

It's flashable you are going to need a USB pro, ck3 (i or mini) you will also need some soldering skills as you have to solder a wire with a 100 ohm resistor to 3.3v pin

this quote is the best one on here,i have used max template over 100 times,and the only ones i have borked are because of the template,had i jus counted the pins i would have been fine on all of them.

the template will not always hit every chip wp wire right on the money.your better off counting legs.takes more time sure,but saves buyin a new pcb.
