Backwards Compatibility Update - Any Risk?

I have a hacked Samsung ms25. I want to play Conker: Live/Reloaded for Xbox 1, but the newest Backwards Compatibility Update is required. I believe this process also updates the operating system software. Can I install the update without any alteration to my hard flashing work?
