I thought this thread was about "Backwards Compatibility" not drive formats.

Anyhoo regarding backwards compatibility, I don't think its going to be such a big deal for the majority of people who have modded their Xboxes, who wants to bin their Xbox if they have spent so much time and money into making it personal to them?

Just keep your Xbox and use that to play your Xbox 1 games.
Exactly what i was thinking!

What person is gonna be so psyched to get ahold of their shiny new Xbox 360 on launch day and then play Halo on it? Surely you'd want to play one of the new games to witness what the new machine can do! (not to take any glory from Halo of course, just an example ;))

The reality of it all is when both are out and available you are going to have the same argument: which system has the best games. M$ is going to have great games and so is PS3. The age old argument between which should I buy will exist. People now have problems choosing between the 2 when deciding what to purchase... xbox fans will buy xbox , ps fans will buy ps. Both systems will have their huge games on the media they see fit. xbox perhaps wont use bluray and just continue with dual layer dvd.. ps3 may put heir games on blu ray. Only time will tell but both systems will be awesome, we have seen some game previews from both and have been impressed by both (well atleast I have been). My decision will be based on why I bought xbox over ps in the 1st place.. it was easier and cooler to mod.
Just my nickel
