I attempted to upgrade the dash of my original NAND (using 360 Multi Builder v0.7) , now I'm getting an E79 error. I was on 13604 and was trying to go to 14699.

I've tried to rebuild and flash via Xell Reloaded and while flashing it yet again found 2 bad blocks:
-------------
! SFCX: Bad block found at 0000029F
block 0x29f seems bad, status 0x00000250
! SFCX: Bad block found at 000002A0
block 0x2a0 seems bad, status 0x0000250
processing block 0x0400 of 0x0400

image written, shut down now!
-------------

I then pull the plug for a minute or two and attempt to re-boot, when I reboot I get red light and E79 error.

At this point, I'm not even sure how to re-flash my original NAND as I simply have nand.bin / updflash.bin files and it looks like Xell Reloaded wants a xenon.elf to start the process of flashing... which my ORIGINAL NAND does not have.

Should I try and restore just rename my original nand to nand.bin and re-flash using Xell Reloaded... will it work with Xell Reloaded as I previously used Xellous. Assuming I can get the thing to restore properly, what can I do to upgrade to 14699 without breaking it again?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your original nand can just be flashed back using: nandpro usb: -w16 orig.bin
it will already have the bad blocks remapped.
open your 14699 image with 360 flash tool and see if the blocks are remapped in that image as well. multibuilder should remap any bad blocks it finds, assuming the nanddump.bin you gave it to start with has the blocks remapped.

Try this

1) Edit Multibuilder options.ini. Set noremap = true

2) Run original nand through Multibuilder and create a new 14699 image file

3) Flash it with Rawflash via USB stick

xenon.elf is the booter for rawflash. Download rawflash v4 and use the xenon.elf for that.

It's looking for nandflash.bin, so rename the 13604 dump you took before updating it to nandflash.bin. It should write it for you.

I tried many variations and then tried the noremap=true and re-flashed... that apparently did the trick.

A very big thank you to everyone for their suggestions! Now on to adding the most recent Dashlaunch and installing avatars.

Thanks again!
