Ok, so I bought the X3 Xecuter and the Xapt3r and installed it on my xbox. All was fine and dnady when I got it in stalled correctly. It booted to the FlashBIOS screen. When I would hold power for a long cycle it booted to old xbox screen.
Today I made a flashbios dvd (mostly) following the instructions (I couldn't find the info on the settings to use for the dvd until after I burned it). Anyways the flash dvd worked fine, or so I thought. It loaded the files, executed the flash, the bar filled up all the way green, then the xbox turned off.
Odd, but maybe that's what is supposed to happen thinks I.
So I turn it on again, and voila back to the FlashBIOS screen I go.
Now I realize that I had all the switches on the bank in the front panel set to off. Doh! So I set switches 1 and 2 on like it says in the tutorial, and re-flash. Same result as before, although it still seems like this is a successful flash.
Now here's the kicker. My chip loads up to "FlashBIOS 3.0.1" screen. I flashed with 3.0.3. The info I read said they would both work, and hey, who can figure out what the heck you need from #xbins? I mean this is really cryptic stuff.
Anyways after the 2nd flash I decided to try and boot up the xbox without the chip enabled, and now I see a screen that says "You Xbox requires service".
So I get to thinking, is THAT the "backup" bios I keep reading about, or at least it used to be before I managed to mess it up? And can I restore the old bios, and how can I get the new bios working.
I expected that once the chip was installed it would just boot my xbox to a new screen and I would have all these cool new features. But now I think I just have a big paperweight.
So, uh, can my box be saved? I thought I read all the info before I flashed, but I kinda forgot about the switches.
Please help
