LITEON 0225 Bad flash (Help Please)

I'm OK with flashing Phat drives but this is my 1st slim and it's had me stressed for hours now, I installed the Sputnik chip and dumped the F/W, followed the instructions to unlock and flash but after writing it didn't verify now it won't respond, I could see the chip properties but not now, I know it's hard to brick a phat but is this one bricked or am I able to flash it still?

Any info please?

did you do a slimkey of this drive before doing anything to it? also you can try to do erase button on port 0x000 and then intro it and see if properties come back up. also can we see pics of the pcb?

did you use flux.move it over to the left by 1 or 2 mm.

also is the 1,3,4 dip switch down to off and number 2 dip switch on.

Yes 1,3 & 4 are down 2 is up, I added a little flux for a good conection, everything seemed OK until now and there is no reaction from the drive at all now

it might be a good idea to remove the sputnik and repair your trace

that would rule out any issues with your sputnik involved

I was going to make a jumper to test the drive without the chip and a trace line came off!!

That's me screwed now isn't it?

honestly, that trace isn't needed for drive detection/flashing

so while it would be good if you repaired it, your flash chip should still show up in JF :/

Tried it as you said joesinger47 and the drive propertied showed up, is there anywhere I can go from here?

flash it again!

try to get everything verified!

after that....i'd say forget the sputnik (as your spi is unlocked now, right?)
then just jumper the wire (i forget the point on the other side of the board, i'll have a quick search)

so, leave the sputnik off, it appears to be the source of your troubles
its not likely that the sputnik is broken, but its throwing extra soldering problems in for you
you should be able to flash the drive, then lock the spi like this
then jumper the wire, and you should be ready to play

I get it showing 0x72 but when I try to write it stops on the 1st dot of the 1st bank, can't really do anything with it at all.

what SPI status does the drive show?

if 0x00, try erasing first (button next to read/write)
