Bad flash help

I installed an x3 on my 2.5 xbox, everything was fine it booted and loaded flashbios. I flashed the bios via the network, but now when I power it up the machine starts and restarts several times, then the LED flashes red and green. I'm told the red and green flashing led is due to the bios being bad. I try to load the backup bios by pressing eject and power while the xbox is turned on, but nothing happens, I also tried it when its booting and nothing changes again. Can anybody help?

the red and green alternating flash is called FRAG. If occurs after a flash, it's usually due to wrong bios version for xbox or bad bios.

If you are using x3 bios 3029, make sure to use X3 3029.bin to flash. Additionally set your switches to [on on off off off] prior to flash.

Try this first. Press power and eject buttons and hold until you see X3 logo on the X3 control panel switch turns purple. If that doesn't work, configure your switches to [off on off off off] (banks 5678). If you haven't touch those banks, flashbios should be there. *IMPORTANT* please read this carefully. If you don't have backup flashbios, make to change the switches back to [on on off off off] prior to flashing otherwise you will SOL since you won't have flashbios anymore if your flash to banks 5678 wasn't successful.

That didn't work either:(, when I press power and eject nothing happens.
And if I move the switches to off, on, off, off, off, nothing changes.

I only flashed the bios once, with the switches in on, on, off, off, off. so there shouldn't have been any change in those banks.

that is correct but since you mention that and before I discount it as a bad chip this is what I recommend doing. If you have a voltmeter, measure each pin heads to make sure you have good solder (I feel this is the best method to check your soldering job than a magnifying glass). I have to look to see if I have a link for a schematic for you. Give me a little time to google for you.

I'm using a solderless adapter. Unfortuately I don't have a voltmeter, it booted the first time with flashbios, so I assumed it was fitted correctly.

it should. If you have all three blue lights lighted up and the red light for the d0 point then I would say you have good contacts. In that case, you may have to contact your retailer and try to get an exchange.

You say that your back-up bios doesn't load. Did you test it before you started flashing?

Yep using an Xapt3r. I have two blue LEDs on the x3. I have 3 blue lights on the Xapt3r. No red light on there though. Only the red light on the x3.

I didn't test the backup bios before flashing.
