LITEON 74850 Bad flash, no keys & dash 15774... lost 360??

Hello guys,

Today I ran into an Opus + LiteON 74850 drive from a guy who presumably failed in trying to extract the key (he wanted to install a x k e y in his box, that's why he needed the dummy.bin). Dash 15774.

He swore the didn't erase the DVD drive flash but facts are clear to me: PhatKey via JF with TX PMT cable is always unsuccessful and that drive won't boot neither original games nor backups.

Though I'm guessing what the correct answer is I want to double check with you before making a final statement to this console owner: is there any way to retrieve the DVD Key performing RGH to this box or is it completely lost by now as I'm fearing?

Many thanks in advance.

Nothing you can do until an exploit for 15574 is found and released

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.
That was my initial perception, however I wasn't totally sure if Xell was bootable in 15574 dash to, at least, retrieve DVD Key.

Issue clarified, thanks joesinger47.

To be fair, you could still boot Xell if you have a dump of the console's NAND from when it was on 14719

Does the drive work? IE does it load/eject ok?

PMT fails normally when a non-MS firmware is on the drive (0800 for example). I'd connect it to your PC's SATA and see what it reads back as.

I'm afraid no NAND dump has never ever been done to that motherboard.

Dash does boot fine, yes, but it won't boot any disc. When I plugged the drive to my PC, the BIOS identified it as a PLDS 2510. Exactly the way it does with LiteON drives that are fine. No 0800 has been flashed to it, as far as I know.

I'm afraid its keys are gone for good with these symptoms and the console is unrecoverable, right?

presently, nothing can be done. Save it though as there may be an exploit in the future

The fact it opens and closes fine means firmware is present, i would MRA it to get a firmware dump, see if the dump is good and doesnt fail parse in jf, at worst maybe you can find the key in the dump in a hex editor.

For PMT to work the drive needs to be more or less fully functional,
if its bad/partially flashed then as advised MRA would be the best chance to recover the fw/key.

I had never heard of MRA before but making a search in the forum I've found this thread:

http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53897

My question is: can I do that with an 74850 drive? That tutorial clearly states you can "74850 you simply dump the drive key using the Prove v1 function". Well, that drive is no longer a 74850 as it has dash 15774, now it's actually a 02510C.

For the record: I only have a CK3 Lite, CK3 Probe and PMT cable so I'm guessing I'd need extra hardware as well, right?

You can do an MRA on any Lite-on 7/8/9 series drive.

You can also do this with wires, a 22 Ohm resistor and a switch.

I do recommend the Probe II but you might find it hard to locate one, hence the diagram above.

Thanks for the update Martin. I'll pass it on to the drive owner because it'd be me who would do that piece of work and not until we reach an understanding on the final price I'd move a muscle.

Just a note. You could downgrade the system and RGH it. In this case you would get DVD key back plus get a RGH out of it.
Thanks for the update WNY. The problem is doing so in my country would cost as much as a used Xbox 360 with 1-year guarantee (80 €).
