I have a 1.0 box. I flashed X3 via http. Everything went fine. I got the blank screen... I read the forums and found out the reason... I tried fixing points 13 and 14 and messed up the pin and soldering points.... I give up there.. The pinheader is still good enough to read flashbios(no fragging.)

I want to know now that I have flashed my 1mb bank with X3 which doesnt work...(all I got is black screen) How do I restore the bank back to flashbios so I can flash it with something else. (since i cant see the screen) I have read everywhere. I am so frustrated right now I am sweating,, so i dont need any crap answers I need help before I ruin the chip.

I aslo tried uploading Evox M7 bios to my 256k bank and when i boot up on that. My box turns on... then off... then on... and then the eject button flashes red... nothing on screen....

Can I use my backup to restore the banks.....???? I just need some answers plz.. Any help with be much appreciated.

Just use your backup flashbios (Eject and Power) then reflash banks 1-4.

That is why TX included the Flashbios backup :D

Also make sure your switches are correct: on, on, off, off for 1st 1MB bank

I thought it you started your box in backup mode, and then flashed you would erase what you had on backup mode with the new flash...Then you wouldnt have a backup of flashbios...

If I am wrong plz correct me. That was how I understood it.

If you start up with the backup bios when you flash, you flash the banks selected with the switches not the backup. So if you get another bad flash you can again go to the backup and try again. That's one of the good features of this chip.

:D :D :D :D :D

Which SATA port to choose?

I am about to prepare my flash drive with iprep 11.6. I have no idea which SATA options to choose.

Also for my Liteon 74850C drive, which app is better. Jungle flasher or iprep?

Which one can you restore your original unedited firmware?

Re: Which SATA port to choose?

iPrep is better than Jungle Flasher IMHO since it's DOS based.

but Jungle Flasher is more popular because it's point and click.

but since you got a Liteon 7xxxx drive you need a device like USBXtractor (only works with JF because it's USB) or CK3 Lite (or PRO) in order to retrieve the key info from the Liteon.

in other words you cant mod it if it's in stock condition (i.e. never been moded before) without additional hardware that i mentioned simply because you won't be able to read the drive key etc from the drive which is critical for the moding process.

DO NOT 'erase' or 'write' to the drive until your 100percent sure your drive key etc info is working! (if you ignore this you can pretty much kill your xbox360 to where you wont be able to play games on it anymore)

Re: Which SATA port to choose?

Thanks for the info. All this time I have been unsuccessfully trying to learn each program, like reading a manual when instead I learned twice as much by searching for a drive specific tutorial. Reading the prices for the connectivity kit, I think it might be a better idea to just purchase an easier drive to flash.

Anyway, in the future when I try to flash again, I would still like to know the following that I would otherwise have to learn from experience:

1) How do I know which SATA controller to use?

I don't really want to concern myself yet with whether the chipset is compatible, because it would simply be easier to try it an see if iPrep of JungleFlasher can recognize the Xbox. But for iPrep, it asks for the controller before hand, which concerns me. Will I be able to try different controllers at boot time, like JungleFlasher's brute forcing method?

2) Does JungleFlasher/iPrep have an option to backup/restore the original firmware?

Just in case anything goes wrong. All I read on so far was how to flash it. What if it gets fubar?

Thanks you guys for all your help. This is by far the most interactive Xbox forum I have been to :)
