:biggrin:I HAD 2 KAMI THAT WHERE "OPEN TRAY"
I COULD READ WRITE & LOCK * UNLOCK SPI ALWAYS OPEN TRAY..
WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM "TWISTED" IN #FW
I USED WIRE GLUE ABOUT 2 DROPS IN KAMI HOLE
WORKED PERFECT ON BOTH DRIVE AFTER 10MIN (DRY TIME) PUT IN 360 AND PLAYED GAMES PERFECT
THIS WORKED ON BOTH DRIVES!
PS I'M USING A .8CM BIT NOW WITH NOT 1.CM FOR ABOVE DRIVES...NO PROB W/ .8MM...AND 10OK OHM RESISTOR

I've used "Instant Solder" in the past to repair a failed Kamikaze, sounds like wire glue will do the same thing. Like the OP said, you don't need much in the hole but it doesn't work on every failed PCB but it's worth a try nonetheless.

I've seen this before as well. I use conductive glue. I was able to fix two. The other two were useless with it. Two were failures from using kamikaze template so careful with that template. Fixin will depend on how deep and wide is the whole. The deeper the whole, the lesser chance to fix with glue.

I use the Kamikaze template/stencil only as a guideline. about 50% of the time its right were it needs to be. Other times I use the pin out to be as accurate as possible. Drilling I've found to be too risky, I use a fine tipped 15w soldering iron. Works like magic baby!

yeah the glue hasnt worked for me n totaly agree the kamikaze template sucks i went back to countin pins never problem for me there

worked good for me

drives read write and spi lock^ unlock
i have to use resitor and bit to spi (qtip dont work)

counting the pins is always best
iam just lazy so use template besides those bad kami template has been ok for me

i now use a .8cm drill bit & template with good results

going to try solder iron on next one

bad kami was from the 1.cm drill to big of a hole
