I have a 1.6 with X3 chip and 80gig harddrive. Never been on xbl until after new hdd install. Activated xbl account on 1.6 and worked fine. Yesterday I got on and would not let me on xbl. The modded system pop-up was showing. The chip was off and red l.e.d. showing. How could they detect this with chip deactivated?

Could this have been tied in with your other problem (different thread) of having your hard-drive unlocked??

Really? I thought it should be locked then the boot-up un-locks it then locks it again.. Am I wrong AGAIN!!?

about a month or two ago statements were released that xbl was now checking for hdd upgrades. if ur hdd is bigger then the standard xbl scans and finds it. thus banning. u probably should have done a little more research before joining live.

i just signed up for xbl yesterday. Its almost been 24 hrs. since i've made my account. I have an X3 with 120 gb HD. I just tried logging on and eveything went fine, about how long is supposed to take for them to ban you if they were going to.

Dunno I was on xbl for about 5 days with my system. One day I tried to get on and couldn't. This is very bizarre for me. A friend of mine has the same setup with a 160gig hdd and has been on xbl with that system for going on 2 months with no problem. Any clues on this? Is there something I'm missing. Did someone find a way to change the hdd # to appear stock?
