 Bad Problem

I was modding my xbox and didn't think i need instuctions because i had previously read the instruction at a friends place. So i went ahead and started soldering the chip on. Everything went good for the chip but when it came to the wires, it got complicated. So i had a try at it. I thought everything went good, till i put the case back on and powered it up. The light at the front came on for about 2 seconds then when off. Then i could smell something burning. So i turned off the xbox and opened back up the case and i find the chip had black stuff around all the connection (I Think it melted or something). So i thought i might as well try to turn the xbox back on.

So i did, Then i pressed the eject button and it ejected but then smoke was coming out. Then the power went off.

Any Sugggestions on how to fix it.

Personally, I'd cut your losses. Sell the broken Xbox to a repairer or see if they can repair it for you.

Get someone to fit the chip in future. There's not a lot you can do, since you've probably fried something.

2 mistakes

1) I was modding my xbox and didn't think i need instuctions because i had previously read the instruction at a friends place.

2) So i thought i might as well try to turn the xbox back on.

Never do anything without fully understanding your instructions and having a copy on hand at the time you are performing an install

also, when, in the history of ever, has smoke comming out of an electronic device been a good thing. when that happens, don't try to turn it on again
