Seriously, what in God's name does it take to get a Xapter to work on a 1.0 xbox? I read every single post... some say I have to desolder the LPC, others say dont desolder, just "wiggle it around until the blue lights come on.." I cant desolder. It wont work. I cant get the blue lights to come on even for a split second. It doesnt matter how much I wiggle the dang thing.

I thought this install was supposed to be soldering iron/stress free. I challenge anyone in the Atlanta area to get this mofo to work. I'll pay you cash money.

Any suggestions are welcomed with open arms.

do a Soldered wire isntall.

The 1.0 xbox doesn't work with solderless mods until you desolder it.

You don't need to desolder - you just need to make sure the pins are aligned. You *may* need to touch each lpc point with an iron to level the solder in them, but this is all.

A wires install on a 1.0 is very easy, go out and get yourslef an iron, all you have to do is touch the filled holes until the solder melts and dip the wire in the melted solder.

Give it a go, it will be a more robust install in the long run.

Get some contact cleaner... it's cheap and it'll clean up that 1.0 that's been sitting next to your TV for the last year!!

It'll get you all hooke up!
