I hope that subject has caught somebody attention. After about two weeks of using the x3 chip with the latest version of slayers evo. I have run into a problem that a search on Xbox-scene, Team Xecuter, google, and asking god haven’t answered. Every game I have is running at half speed. Great in some fighting games if you want to see how the animations work, suck for racing games. Has anybody else had this problem or now what the problem is? I am assuming that I will have to have the Xbox open again and the point’s re-sodered? I am just looking for some answers/suggestions/help. Thanks

Thanks for the replys. Booting is fine, it is just the games that run in slow. I don't have any videos on it. If it matters I am using a 100 gig hdd that was in my computer, but i used slayers evo install disk to format it and what not.

i know this sounds odd but try plugging in a powered network cable. (doesn't need to be able to ftp, just needs to be "on") for some reason thats the only way my xbox will let me play backups without them being slow.

Wait...... Are you playing the games directly from the Backups?

If you are, it's the Media.... I had the same problem with RiData DVD-Rs, they are suppose to be the bomb, but my box didn't like them much. Changed to cheap generic disk from local shop and that fixed my problems.

so in short...... change media

But first when you get all your files from your xbox to your pc, DEFRAG your PC Hard Drive. So it can at least put some files in order .

Makes no difference if your pc hard drive is fragmented or not.

Which specific games? Some xbox games buffer heavily to the hard drive (like the Halo games) and I've noticed that that behavior is the same on the backups; in effect I'm buffering from the hard drive to the hard drive. I have a fast drive with a big buffer, but on a slower drive I can see how this would perhaps cause the perception that things are running/loading slowly.

So... my question is what game and how much slower (as in a percent) are the backups loading versus the originals (which I'm sure you still have on hand)?

Re: Backup Games on Xbox HDD run slow...really slow.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. When I original put the games on the Xbox hard drive the games ran perfectly smooth. The slow down just started the day I original posted (Sunday) If it makes a difference we were playing DOA Ultimate, turned it off, went to dinner, came back, and the slow down started. The hard drive is a WD100 gig with 8 meg cache. I do still have the original games =P and they load fine and run perfect. I've asked my room mates and we general agree that games running off the hard drive run at 50% the speed of when we play them on the original disk.

WTF? Learn how hard drives work. If you want to be assinine about this you would want to defrag the PC hard drive BEFORE ftping the files the Xbox so that they can occupy contiguous disc space - but even that is a stretch.

What if you get your stock HDD back into the Xbox and load just this game onto the HDD?

Does it run as slow?

I bet you never even opened up a hard drive. I done took the disks out of the hard drive to put in another so I can get someones data back from a fryed drive. sectors, heads, cycles, and I don't know how hard drives work. HA
