Bank Select for first time Flashing

Just trying to get my head around this..

I read in the stickies that..
1234 = 3.01
5678 = 3.03
Backup = 3.01

Correct ?

I have a 1.6 and I'd like to preserve the 3.01 on the first 1M bank.
Should I boot into 1234 and then switch to 5678 before I flash ?

Or is this just useless since the backup contains 3.01 ?
Is there any way to confirm the contents of the backup via X3CL ?

mate if your backup work you do not have to worry about 3.0.1 on frist banks
this is how i run my xbox v1.6
banks 1234 x3 3294
banks 56 x2 5035
banks 7 flashbios 3.0.1
banks 8 flashbios 3.0.3 whitch will not work only have it there as a safety reasons if gos into v1.6b xbox
just flash the 7 and 8 with flashbios with backup bank power eject at same time

No reason to waste an entire 1M bank with only a 256K Flash when I can load it up with all kinds of other flashy goodness. (X3)
