Xbox v 1.6
Xecuter 3 with standard switch-board.
Flashbios ? ( not the 3.0.3 )
2 banks @ 1024K
bank 1:1957 / bank 2: 1959

I wanted to put the new bios into bank 2, so i could fallback to 1957 if there was a problem with 1959.

* switch ( 1-2-3-4-5 )

Bank 1 ( on-on-off-off-off ) works perfect.

When I tried to change my switches to bank 2 ( off-off-on-on-off )
my xbox booted 2-3 times and kept powered on but no output to the TV, and no boot of anykind.

I put all switches to the off state and booted the box into live bios mode.
FTPed the file into the 1024K bank 2 location in C:\Admin and the flashing went on with sucess.
Soft set the mod to use bank 2, again with the live bios. and my box uses bank 2 with bios 1959.

But why can't i use the switches to select this bank ?
I am 100% sure everything is connected correctly.

LOL.. totally misread that part in the noob faq :)

thanks, this fixed the problem.

JungleFlasher Help

Before hand, yes I am sorry for posting this in a new topic but no one will answer my old topic.

Can someone please explain what to do during this phase?

Thumbnail; click to expand

Is this telling me to unplug the black/white cord and plug it back or what?

Every time I do this I get drive intro device failed.

I do not have the power dongle. Only the USB xtractor.

--------------
This is what comes up when I do not power cycle my drive.

Edit.. Just saw that I should have posted in DVD Firmware Hacks. Sorry, if this could be moved please do so. If not please tell me and I will re-post there and try to remove this one.

Re: JungleFlasher Help

Never mind.

I think I destroyed my drive. It will not read any discs, not normal, a backup, or a DVD.

I looked on google and I found people saying that there is no way to undo this. I reverted back to original firmware, updated. Nothing.

If anyone has any suggestions, please post. I pretty much lost hope after reading that my drive may be dead.

Edit--
Before I give up totally, I am going to try to put 1.61 on my drive..... I saw a few posts saying that LT did this.

But now this brings me back to my original question. If you could answer this still then I would be very happy.

Re: JungleFlasher Help

Which version of the Lite-On do you have? Has it been flashed before? Have you tried just sending a write command? It looks like you successfully erased the drive. I assume you got the key first?

Yes, I have the key and everything needed.

Just that with this firmware it DOES NOT read discs. I looked on google and I see like 3 or 4 people had this same problem. They went back to 1.61 and it worked fine. I plan on doing this.

Just that now I get the Intro device Error when trying to send the erase command.

Re: JungleFlasher Help

As far as LT is concerned, from what I've read it's probably a calibration error. I had a Lite-On that wouldn't respond to vendor intro but when I sent a write command it worked. Try just sending the write command for 1.61 and see if that works.

Re: JungleFlasher Help

Thats the thing though. I get the same error when I try to erase the drive. This isn't trying to write to it yet.

As the Jungle Flasher guide says.

I must power cycle my drive. Yet this seems impossible to do without a power dongle. Which I can not buy.

The weird thing is I got it to work once.

Re: JungleFlasher Help

Just power cycle, and send an Intro.

This will bring up good flash chip properties and you can write to the flash chip.

Re: JungleFlasher Help

Hmm, it seems that it is not a flash issue but a drive issue. I looked this up on youtube and saw a lot of people had this problem, even if they didn't flash.

But with my luck, None of the remedies worked for me. Cleaning laser, making sure the laser is in the right position, re-lubing the spindle.

I can't remember the Idea I just had to fix this.. I am going to take a break today, then see if I remember tomorrow.

Re: JungleFlasher Help

all you have to do is send intro device id again wait for the dots to appear then power on the drive
now you can write to the drive
