bank sequences???

I was in the process of flashing my X3 mod chip on my v1.6 with the banks sequence as it is recommended (on,on,off,off) and the screen asking where you wanted to boot from would not appear so i tried a numer of other sequences and found that the sequence "off,off,on" worked. I then commenced to flash my Xbox when it froze. I restarted my Xbox and the sequence "off,off,on" would no longer work so but a different sequence would, "on, off, off,on." I tried to flash it again and the same thing happened, the Xbox froze. A friend later suggested that i flash it using Ftp, because the same thing had happened to him, but niether of the bank sequences work to get me back to the same screen. All that happens is the tv screen would go blank. Please can anyone one Help.

The bank or banks you boot to for FlashBIOS should be different than then the banks you try to flash. This, you are not doing. You booted with "off,off,on", that’s a 512k bank combo with banks 7 and 8, you can’t flash X3 1959 into that because the 1959 is 1MB.

Find a bank or banks on your chip that still has FlashBIOS on it, or the backup and boot to it. Then set your switches to a 1MB combo, you only get 2 options for this. Either the first combo on, on, off, off (banks 1-4) or off, on, off, off (banks 5-8). Then proceed to flash the appropriate version of X3 1959 to the chip.

thank you for replying, but i was wondering how do i know which banks still have flashbios on them and if niether of them still have flashbois how do i reset them?

flashbios will always be available by pressing eject/on at the same time.

so youll never screw up banks permanently
