I have no Homebrew or cfw for my clean switch. I logged in for smash online and it gave me an error, after calling them they said I modified the game but this is my clean switch.... Kinda sad that this happened and they won't tell me what I did. (It's a perm ban for smash online only btw)

You went online after using SX OS or another CFW or is this just informational?

Just informational, it was my switch that didn't have sxos (my clean one) or any cfw for that matter. I don't know why they banned me perm, and they won't tell me why in call unfortunately. Just wanted to discuss I guess. It's been clean since day 1. Also the ban is perm on smash Bros ultimate only which is why it's weird.

I highly doubt the person you spoke with at Nintendo actually knows any details about why you were banned. There is almost certainly just a script they are reading that says, "if ban type is single-game-only, then tell customer that reason is because they modified game."

Did you dump your smash bros cartridge with certificates and maybe use that XCI dump with another online switch that has CFW?

Nope I've made sure to keep EVERYTHING I do on that switch absolutely clean. Thanks for the info about that! That was exactly what they told me. I've never dumped it. In the past I game shared with 7 people but I deleted and unlinked all of those months ago. Maybe it's related to that? The ban happened months after I already unlinked all of those accounts, and my copy of smash is Physical too. What would you recommend I do? Contact Nintendo of Japan?

Unfortunately my prediction is that contacting Nintendo will accomplish nothing and you are SOL. They have no incentive to spend time investigating one complaint of unfair banning, because such investigation would probably be resource-intensive for them. Best of luck if you try to get it reversed though.....

That makes me sad. I spent so much as a broke college student to have a clean switch just for this to happen-

You say you did NOT dump this game and use that dump on ANY Switch? If true than I am also curious.... Where did you buy the game? Was the game or the switch used when you bought it? If new, where did you buy it? Perhaps somebody duped you into thinking you were buying new when it was actually used.
Does your clean switch and your modded switch happen to share a nintendo account or profile?

Perhaps Nintendo is just going to start banning anybody who flags error codes. Which leads me to another curiosity.... In your system settings (on your clean Switch) do you allow your Switch to contact Nintendo with error information?

If none of that is the case then perhaps the only thing else I can think of is that one of those 7 Switches you shared your game with happened to be modded. Or they dumped the game without you knowing it.

Got the game brand new at gamestop on the day of release. My clean and modded switch do not share accounts. I didn't gameshare the game because it's physical, not digital.

That's actually really strange and curious, something is off for they ban you, maybe you did something in the game that make they think that you modded/hacked/cheated?

Overall, best of luck to get the ban reversed, Smash and Mario Maker 2 are games that definetely makes you think of getting an clean switch...
