Hi,

I never used emunand, or never went online without games I don't own (so it's proper backup 1:1 with the proper certificates for each cart). The only Homebrew that I am using is the backup of save games Checkpoint and of course the utility to backup my games to my SD card (XCI). Checkpoint is the main reason I bought SXOS because Nintendo didn't had any option to backup my savedata and still as today, it's clunky and not in my possession.

This morning I saw the newly 2.9 update and now I can't access the Nintendo Online. The error I am getting is Error Code : 2181-4008 (The use of online services on this console is currently restricted by Nintendo). I don't know if it has with the fact that I bought tons of games in Japan and I am in the US. I bought Tokyo 2020 which is not released over here. Not too sure what is going on.

I never used NSP as I don't download games anyways. I am just into preserving my games. I earn enough money to support the devs and their games and I don't give a damn about those who don't have the money and can discover these games. I am not for or against piracy.

Right now, do I have any options or I am stuck with an offline Switch? Thanks in advance.

You mean you only use your legal cart dump (with cert) to go online? Have you checked that you still have access to eshop right before using new sxos V2.9?
Did you use any homebrew after updating to sxos 2.9?

In the past (sxos 2.8), I can use my own cart dump to go online in CFW (not EMUNAND).
But for now, it seems that I can't do it anymore.

I dont run backups or homebrew. I only use the built-in cheat feature. I only play ether my own cartridge-based games on purchased Nintendo Shop games. I use the Nintendo Online cloud save service to transfer my saved to my pure stock new version Switch with the better battery life. So far, no ban. Though I am sure it will still happen at some point.

No access to Eshop, everything is blocked by this message.
If you run cfw expect to be banned.

This is true for ALL video game consoles and ALL mods.

Do at your own risk.

This is also why emunand exists
I get that, thanks for the reminder. But with previous updates, it was fine.. I was doing something right and SXOS was properly programmed to avoid detection of CFW which I don't it was it was with release 2.9. Anyways, it's done.. I am stuck with a Nintendo Switch where I can't buy any new games from the eshop or play online. If Nintendo would have done a good job with backups of savedata, I would have never use SXOS to backup my savedata. Cheers!
