Hi there.
I just got my xecuter3 workin. And now i am trying to flashBIOS.

I followed this "http://home.comcast.net/~x3guide/" - noobguide.
And i am relly ashamed that i cant do this correct, cause its so basic, but it wont work.

The guide says that i should rename my bios to "bios.bin" but if i rename my bios to that, the name becomes Bios.bin.bin offcourse. But to be sure i tryed both ways. Bios.bin.bin and bios.bin. None of them works.

This is the screen i get up when trying to flash.

FlashBIOS 3.0.0
For help visit teamxecuter.com/FlashBIOS (http://teamxecuter.com/flashbios/)

This is the process i made:

Downloaded " X3 1959 & FlashBIOS v3.03 "
Unzipped it.
Renamed it Bios.bin
Burned an 100+mb file with the bios.bin
Burned it on a cd-r disc
turned my xbox on.
chose Load bios from disc.
Put the disc in
Changed the x3 switch:
1ON
2ON
3ON
4ON
(size of the bios is 256, is the settings of the switch right ?)

After that i get this message ONLY.

CD-Rom Lable: MY_DISC

Nothing more, why wont it accept my disc ?

Help me out

EDIT:

I have tryed:

1ON
2ON
3OFF
4OFF

And i have tryed both with and without the flash protection.

Maybe it's because it's a CD-R ... the Xbox DVD drives don't like those much ... try a CD-RW or if at all possible a DVD-R

But still, how should i rename the " X3 1959 & FlashBIOS v3.03 " file, in that case, to "bios.bin" ?
Ill try a dvd-r disc.
Thanx....

if you have the Flash bios back up working try just burning the 1959 bios to the disk with your 100mb dummy file. rename the bios to "bios" so it appears as "bios.bin" not "bios.bin.bin".(without the quotes) and again use a DVD-r. Can you not ftp to the xbox this is much easier.

once you have unzipped the bios you have downloaded you need to load it into the bios manager then save it out as bios.bin to somewhere on your pc. Then create a 100 mb dummy file and save that to the same location. I used nero 6 to create my disc, disable jolliet and burn as slow as possible 2x or 4x. set the switch bank to on on off off off. this worked for me.

I too tried the cdr/dvdr method with no luck. I finally had to use my home network and flash that way. If you don't want to get a switching hub or router and set up a network then the next thing would be to just get a crossover cable and link your PC and xbox together that way. There are guides showing all methods of flashing you just have to choose which method you want to use.......Good luck

So as is mentioned above you must rename your biosfile to bios.bin.

Burn it with a burning program together with a file that is 100MB+, if your drive can read the CD/DVD media it must work.
