GENERAL basic Guidelines ?

heyy guys i have few querries before moving on to flash my drive to 3.0

1) if i use my onboard sata port instead of via6421 does my flashing process will freeze ?

2) i have an LG DVD writer capable of DL Writting...so can i write xgd3 games through that ? or do i need a special burner for that ?

please help me out guys

answer to 1 - depends which drive you have and whether your sata chipset is compatible..
2 - no good - need a liteon ihas drive with xtreme firmware

okk guys 3.0 is out... i have got my via 6421 , ck3i, probe and i am all set to go...

i am having few questions

1) should i install the drivers of the sata card so that my pc will detect it....?

2) my drive is a lieon 7 series with 1.91 and the dash is 13599 which firmware should i use coz there is a lott of .bin files in c4eva firmware folder
i want to flash it to 3.0
please help guys

1. You need to manually lt3.0 in the target folder in jf until new jf is released.

2. You can burn with your current burner but it will only burn 97% of the disk which Is not advised. Purchase a liteon ihas for around 18 pound and flash with burnermax fw

okk thanks guys...just one last question... i have got my via card ... should i install the drivers ?
as i have read in JF tutorial that we must remove the drivers of the via card ?

Many people remove the drivers to prevent the computer from freezing during the flashing process. I kept the drivers until one of my drives was bricked during the flashing process due to my computer freezing. I was able to recover, but it didn't have to happen.

okk...guys a i doomed ?

i hooked up everything as advised by JF... while extracting the KEY i have saved the key and after that PC FREEZED....so i removed everything...now i am afraid to proceed ...i have my DUMMY>BIN saved with me.. should i try on another pc ??

Please help guys

you are absolutely right bro...

i will try in another pc tomorrow and if it still didn't work out i am gonna order it tomorrow..

i just want to know that why the pc got freezed ?

probably your via card, could try a different sata connection on your motherboard see if that helps if not usb pro m8, its a common problem more with slims but also whilst erasing a liteon

damn that will take another 15 days to arrive....
i have a phat xbox with liteon drive....now all that remains is to go to the stock update the dash n flash it to 3.0...
as i said i am going to try on another pc tomorrow hope it works....my card was showing as 3249...that can be the issue ?

there was an extra molex connection on that pc... i just connected to that... however the ck3i power switch was green even when i switched off the ck3i...

15 days thats a long time they outta stock?

could always take drive or send to someone to do it for you:smile:

just try again may not freeze this time
